A mega plan is being prepared for migrant laborers in the Corona crisis. Under this, the Modi government will launch the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan on June 20. During this campaign, a complete blueprint has been prepared for the employment and rehabilitation of millions of people returning to their states and villages in lockdown. According to the Prime Minister's Office, this campaign will run for 125 days in 116 districts of 6 states. Government mechanisms of the campaign will work in mission mode to assist migrant workers.

Before this, the Modi government has provided financial assistance of Rs 53,248 crore to about 42 crore poor under the Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Package. The government announced a relief package of Rs 1.70 lakh crore on 26 March to provide relief to the weaker sections from the Corona crisis. The package includes providing free food grains to the poor, and providing cash assistance to women, the elderly, farmers and others.
